  • Take the Sealdah-Canning local train from Sealdah in Kolkata. Train ride is about 1.5 hours.
  • From Canning Station, we’ll pick you up with an Auto or Tata Magic. Then we’ll go to Godkhali Ferry Ghat (about 30-45 minutes).
  • 12:00 PM–1:00 PM – We will take a boat through Gosaba island. Then reach our hotel, right opposite the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve. Enjoy the peace of nature: rivers, bridges over water, fresh air, forest surroundings. A calm, pleasant weekend begins.

  • 8:30 AM – We’ll get the needed permission from the forest office (just opposite our stay). Then head into the mangrove forest. This’s one of the biggest mangrove jungles in the world, full of plants and wild animals.
  • We’ll ride until sunset, visiting three watchtowers: Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali, and Dobanki.
  • Along the way, we’ll pass through small channels and creeks — Pir-Khali, Gazi-Khali, Banabibi-Varani, Sundar-Khali, and Chora-Gazi Khal. Look out for wildlife: spotted deer, wild boar, civet cats, monitor lizards, crocodiles, maybe dolphins … and hopefully, the Royal Bengal Tiger.

  • 9:00 AM – On the third day, after breakfast, we will go for a village tour. You’ll see people whose lives are tied to the land and the forest — they collect honey, catch fish and crabs, and try to live well despite challenges like storms (Aila effect).
  • The nature around is calm and green, very relaxing.
  • After that, return to the hotel. Have lunch, pack your bags, then check out. We’ll visit two historic bungalows: the Rabindranath Tagore Bungalow (also called Beacon’s Bungalow) and the Sir Daniel Hamilton Bungalow. Then end the trip with transfer back.
