Itinerary Image

  • Welcome! You arrive at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. From there, we’ll drive you to Phuntsholing, a lively border town. After checking into your hotel, you can take it easy and do:
  • Visit Amo Chhu Crocodile Breeding Centre to see rare crocodiles up close
  • Walk along the peaceful Torsa Riverside, enjoy the fresh air and scenery
  • Evening is free. Relax and rest overnight.

  • After breakfast, check out and we’ll go together for immigration formalities and get your Bhutan travel permit. Then enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. After checking into your hotel, your afternoon is yours to explore:
  • Visit Dechen Phodrang Monastery – also called “Palace of Great Bliss,” a monastery school with beautiful murals and historic artworks. 
  • See traditional arts at the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, where students learn the 13 crafts of Bhutan (painting, carving, weaving and more). 
  • Wander in the green Royal Botanical Garden
  • Stop by Ambient Café for local food, relax, enjoy the cozy vibes
  • Stay overnight in Thimphu.

  • National Memorial Chorten, a quiet monument
  • Motithang Takin Preserve, where you’ll see Bhutan’s national animal, the takin, in a forested setting
  • Handicrafts Emporium, where local artisans work and you can see or buy nice handmade items
  • Bhutan Postal Museum, known for the “talking stamps” and telling stories of Bhutan’s postal history

  • After checking out, ride to Dochula Pass – beautiful mountain views and lots of photo moments. Then continue to Punakha. Once there:
  • Visit Chimi Lhakhang, called the “Fertility Temple”
  • Explore Punakha Dzong, a stunning fortress by two rivers
  • Walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge, great river views
  • If you like, do a short river rafting on Pho Chhu / Mo Chhu to add some thrill
  • Check in at hotel and stay overnight.

  • Today you go on a scenic drive to Phobjikha Valley (Gangtey area), known for its calm beauty and nature. Things to do:
  • See black-necked cranes (if they are in season), rare and beautiful birds that migrate here. 
  • Visit Gangtey Gompa Monastery – lovely architecture, spiritual calm, great views over the valley. 
  • Stop by Wangdiphodrang Dzong, where two rivers meet, and admire traditional fortress style
  • Overnight at hotel in Gangtey/nearby.

  • Morning: check out and ride to Paro. Along the way, see local villages and nice valley-views. Once in Paro:
  • Visit Drukgyel Dzong, an old fortress with stories of Bhutan’s history
  • Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples (from 7th century)
  • Stay overnight in Paro.

  • Start the day early: ride or drive to Satsam Chorten, the start point of the trek. Then:
  • Hike through pine forests, cross over paths with prayer flags, maybe past some small waterfalls
  • Reach Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched on a cliff. Explore its meditation caves and sacred chambers
  • After trekking, return to hotel
  • Later you can relax with a hot stone bath or try local food at Park 76 Café & Pub. Overnight in Paro.

  • In the morning, check-out from hotel. We’ll drive you to the Immigration Office, finish the formal checks, then send you to Paro International Airport for your flight back home. This marks the end of your wonderful Bhutan journey. Safe travels!
